The End of Kazi Mtaani

 


The "Kazi Mtaani initiative" will come to an end, according to President William Ruto, who also stated that his administration will concentrate on the cheap housing program in order to provide the country's millions of young people without jobs something to do.

Dr. Ruto stated that the Kazi Mtaani initiative would be replaced by the affordable housing program during a speech at the launch of the project in Soweto, Kibera.

Every constituency in Nairobi and every county in the nation will imitate the scheme. 

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta is the brains behind Kazi Mtaani. Similar initiatives were part of the Kazi Kwa Vijana policy of the grand coalition administration.

In order to protect the young people in the country from the negative effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Kazi Mtaani initiative, which was introduced in April 2020, was reproduced across the 1,450 wards.

President William Ruto criticized the project during his campaigns, saying it denied young people in the nation the respect they deserve..“The government is manipulating the young people. You have seen the Kazi Mtaani programme they launched. It is insulting to the youth in the country when the government sabotaged the programme of housing and value addition that would have given them a decent source of income. It has just been rolled out because we have an election coming up,” Dr Ruto said in June 2022.
