Kisumu RFC clinched their second victory of the 2023/2024 season with a narrow 13-10 triumph over Catholic Monks in an early kick-off match at the CUEA grounds on Saturday, January 20.
The Monks took an early lead, scoring the first try of the game within minutes through Jeremy Odhiambo. Samuel Omolo's successful conversion gave the hosts a 7-0 advantage at halftime.
In the early stages of the second half, Kisumu RFC mounted a strong comeback, securing their first try of the game. Stephen Ochieng successfully converted it, leveling the score at 7-7.
Kisumu RFC then added three points to their tally with a penalty, expertly scored by Buess Nyangina, propelling them to a 10-7 lead. The closely contested match concluded with Kisumu RFC securing the narrow 13-10 victory.
