Are Brazil Ready to Be World Champions in Qatar

Leaders in the FIFA/Coca-Cola Ranking Brazil will travel to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 with a greatly changed lineup, with more than half of the team that lost to Belgium in the round of 16 in Russia four years ago having been replaced.

Along with a change in personnel, the Seleção's mindset has also changed. This is a more daring team that has tapped into a group of talented young forwards who left Brazil at a young age and have made names for themselves at some of the best teams in Europe.

They are Rodrygo, Antony, Raphinha, and Vinicius Junior. They are now prepared to assist Neymar in carrying the creative load. Most of them were teenagers in 2018 when they were just beginning out in their careers.

“A Seleção had the results and the solidity but we lacked the impetuosity and creativity that these players bring,” said head coach Tite, who wasted little time in bringing the new generation into the fold. He now faces the challenging challenge of selecting who will travel to the World Cup and who will stay at home with so much potential at his disposal.

With 14 victories, three draws, and no losses, his team just completed the best-ever qualifying run in South America. They also scored 40 goals overall while allowing just five goals to be conceded. They now want to succeed in Qatar to the very end.
