New DCI Boss Amin Mohamed Ibrahim

 


President William Ruto has appointed Amin Mohamed Ibrahim to lead the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). In the interviews to choose a new DCI commander, Mr. Mohamed, the head of the Police Internal Affairs Unit, stood out as the best candidate with over 30 years of experience in criminal investigations.

After former DCI George Kinoti's resignation last month, a total of 10 officers were considered for the position and included Dr. Simon Wanderi, the Head of Investigations at Kenya Railways, Mr. Bernard Marasa Walumoli, Eliud Kipkoech Lagat, Detective Nicholas Kamwende, former Anti-Terrorism Police Unit Boss Munga Nyale, David Kipkosgey Birech, Jonyo Michael Wiso, Paul Ndambuki, and Ms. Esther Chepkosgei Seroney.
